Now that your primary estate planning documents are hopefully in place, it’s time to figure out the messages, values, and vision that will be your legacy. And how to communicate your wishes.
This is a particularly empowering subject for a Circle. According to a recent study by Fidelity Investments that surveyed American families and finance, 90% of participants emphasized a need for discussing and developing estate plans and wills.
Unsurprisingly, the study reported a disconnect in how legacy and estate information was relayed and stored between parents and their adult children: while 69% of parents surveyed believed that they had engaged in conversations with their children on these issues, 52% of adult children reported that such conversations had not yet occurred.
