Education is the gift that keeps on giving. This November, join us for lunch and a few lessons on gifting.
Women’s Circles, Mosaic’s guided conversation groups for women, will start at noon and end promptly at 1:30 pm. Doors open at 11:30. A hearty lunch that can accommodate many dietary concerns is on us.
Designed for navigating the end of year holiday season, our November topic is Giving—and Receiving—With Grace.
As the year winds down, the number of times Mosaic is asked about gifting ramps up. We receive questions about giving to deserving charities as well as to family members.
In light of the many questions that arise around giving, we’ll begin with a brief interactive presentation on smart financial gifting strategies to charities and family or friends. For some Circle attendees, this may be a chance to review the nuts and bolts behind your existing plans.
We’ll decode jargon, dispel myths and give you our top five strategies for maximizing gifts and minimizing taxes. We’ll touch on several aspects of charitable giving, such as annual fund and capital campaigns, the gift tax, 529 plans, donor-advised funds, and more.
During the Circle’s second half, our focus will turn to the uniquely personal relationship surrounding the intentions connected to giving and receiving. We’ll share stories and tips to better communicate wants and needs, and perhaps slay some dragons in the process, so that you can sail into the holidays with greater ease.
And then you’ll be back to your regularly-scheduled day, having learned a few wise things, and hopefully leaving with a greater sense of peace around giving—and receiving.
Circles are a great way to give the gift of education to yourself this holiday season and have fun doing it; set aside a November lunchtime to do just that.
Guests are welcome—we firmly believe that sharing time and wisdom is a wonderful thing to do with a friend!
